Saginaw Township Summer League
Who: High school boys from the Frankenmuth Area. Typically, boys 14 and 15 years old will play the 16U League and 16-18 year olds will play 18U.
When: Games start the week after the high school season ends and will continue until mid-July. Usually the teams will have 2 game nights per week.
Why: To allow high school students the opportunity to build on skills learned during the high school season. Both teams will play a large variety of competition ranging from invitation only teams to local town teams like ours.
Where: Most games are played at Saginaw Township fields, typically the diamonds at the Center Courts facility. At least once doubleheader will be played in Frankenmuth.
Details: A season consists of 7 or 8 game nights, 2 nights per week on average. Each game night consists of two 7 inning games with a maximum of 15 minutes between games. The week of July 4th there will be no games played.
History: Frankenmuth is once again participating in the Saginaw Township Summer League. It is a great opportunity to play against some of the best baseball players the Saginaw area has, in addition to competition that would be encountered during a typical high school season. Practices are minimal as to not conflict with other sports and family obligations. The emphysis for both the 16U and 18U teams are building skills through experience and competition.
